REVIEW: Etude House Drawing Brow (Grey Brown)

Hello again! Another post about another eyebrow product, which is never been my favorite since I'm still figuring out how to make my #eyebrowsonfleek, but yet without the help of eyebrow product my brows would look almost invisible (especially on photos) because it's thin, sparse and short.

After seeing this Etude House Drawing Eyebrow being sold everywhere with such affordable price, I finally ordered one for myself. Not just for the price, but it looks very convenient and practical with a built in spooley on the other side of the pencil. Just like those popular eyebrow products with a not-so-affordable price.

This drawing brow pencil came in a retractable form, so you don't have to worry about sharpening or breaking it multiple times while sharpening it. And like any other pencil type products that I've owned from Etude House (my Soft Auto Touch Lip Liner for example), you can't expect to get lots of products, the amount of pencil you'll get is just about half of my pinkie, and I don't think there's a refill for it too. Yeah, such a waste for the sturdy packaging.

Although it's a pencil, I feel the texture is rather waxy, and it's quite hard,  plus the pigmentation is not intense as well, so you don't have to worry about putting too much product on your brows and make it look too bold. You can never go wrong with this because you can build the pigmentation to the way you want it to be. The shape of the pencil, which is thin and angled by the tip also helps to create a neat and flick tail of the brows. I only wish it was thin enough to get a more precise tail, also for filling in the gaps. But I can still manage to create it by slightly turn the pencil and use the sharp side of the pencil.

I honestly never worry about the shade of my brow products because I wear hijab/headscarf anyway so I don't have to match my brows with my hair. As long as it's not too red or blonde, I can get away with it #perksofbeingahijabi. But I picked Grey Brown in the end, which is the 2nd darkest shade out of the other 5 shades, because I think it'll look more natural on me, and I'm proud to say I picked the right shade. It's definitely grey with a hint of brown, with no sign of reds whatsoever. I think this shade will suits a lot of Indonesian girls or any asian with medium skin tone like me as well. The only thing that concerns me about this drawing brow is, it's not waterproof, so it will fade if you sweat or take wudhu to pray, but from my experience if I set my brows with eyebrow gel after I used this drawing brow, the product is more likely to stay in place, so it won't fade as much as when I don't set it with eyebrow gel.

Overall, I'm very pleased with this drawing brow by Etude House. With such a great price (IDR 35,000), you get a reasonable amount of product with great quality. I've been using this from day to day because it's quick and easy, and the pencil form only make it easier to be carried everywhere and do the touch ups. Have you tried Etude House Drawing Brow? Do you like it as much as I do, or do you have another favorite brow pencil of your own? Let me know in the comment! Thanks for reading :)

  1. I was wondering if you guys have SASA store in Indonesia? Or brands like Cyber Colors and ZA Cosmetics? I got a friend working at MAC and she recommended be both brow pencils from those brands, said to work better than MAC...

    1. We don't have SASA but we do have ZA cosmetics, it launched a couple years ago here. I read a review about ZA brow pencil recently, it even compared to ABH brow wiz and the review said it's just as good. I saw it last week on ZA counter and they were having 70% off sale!! But I bought too many make up already :(

  2. I think its awesome when brow products are created without too much pigmentation,
less chance of women walking around with two harsh lines above their eyes!

  3. Etude generally has great products, but I don't care for the colour. The point of the spoolie is not just to brush your brow in place but to disperse the products properly throughout.
